League One Huddersfield Town are one of the favourites for promotion this season. Their aggressive and ambitious transfer policy has backed this decision. Yet for many pundits they are not title winners.
Lee Grant’s side have added more firepower this season with the addition of Alfie May, who famously chose Birmingham City a year ago over the Terriers.
The club also added Joe Taylor and Dion Charles to their attack in January which gave them arguably the best forward options in the division.
However, League One Lowdown host Callum Davis thinks they need to make one change to kick on this season and potentially walk the league.
Huddersfield Town Need to Utilise the Forward Talent at their Disposal to “Walk” League – League One Lowdown
Speaking on the latest episode titled “Are we in for a shock? – League One Preview” host Callum argued that Lee Grant needed to play two up top this season.
“Alfie May epitomises what I want to say. He is THE League One striker”
“He is a statement of intent”
“One thing I would like to see them do more is play two up front”
“They have the players to do it, they have the midfield strength to do it as well.”
“Play two up top and I reckon they will walk the league”
“They have got the strength to do it so why not?”
Callum went on to back Huddersfield to beat Reading in their upcoming League One fixture 3-1. He was worried about the Royal’s defence after showing frailty against Lincoln City.
Tight League in Lee Grant’s Hands
The League One Lowdown hosts did back Huddersfield Town to earn automatic promotion this season, coming second behind the impressive Stockport County.
It was argued that Lee Grant is unproven, but should have enough to see him through even if it takes time to adapt. The dispatching of play-off finalists Leyton Orient in their opening fixture will have given confidence going forward.
There are a number of sides that will be hoping to achieve one of the two automatic spots.
