Premier League newcomers Leeds United are short on attacking options following their promotion. They are closing in on the signing of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but could be set to add another name from AC Milan.
The Everton striker had been heavily linked to a move to Old Trafford. However, with Benjamin Sesko arriving and Rasmus Hojlund still on the books despite links there was no room for the 28-year-old.
The player has struggled with injuries over the past few years, but when fit could become a solid option.
However, with reports suggesting that Patrick Bamford can no-longer be relied upon, few options in the forward positions and Manor Solomon leaving a hole in the team after his return to Spurs, more additions are clearly needed this summer.
Leeds United Target AC Milan Forward
Leeds United faced AC Milan in a pre-season friendly which appears to have prompted transfer interest from the English side. According to The Athletic, Daniel Farke is keen to add Noah Okafor from the European giants this summer.
Whilst to date no talks have taken place, it could be a key signing in the last couple of weeks of the window. Okafor is primarily a left winger, but has played across the front line. He is right footed and likes to cut in from the left hand side.
Noah Okafor The Statistics
Okafor did only score one goal in Serie A last season, he is not afraid to take a shot. Often he shoots too close to the goalkeeper to trouble him, something that Farke will be hoping to improve. In fact he is in the 94th percentile for shots on target per 90.
He ranks low in the league for his passing ability, but his ability to run past defenders ranks him in the top 40% of Serie A attackers for completed dribbles. His touches in the opposition box also place him top of the league.
It is clear what the player’s strengths are, quick, powerful runs into and around the box with quick low shots towards the centre of the goal. Something which could be incredibly useful if Leeds are pinned back in the Premier League and forced to counter attack.
