Premier League Manchester United have submitted a huge bid for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko shortly after Newcastle United submitted their second attempt.
The pair have been locked in a transfer tug-of-war with both sides waiting on the player to formally make a decision on his next location.
It is thought that the player prefers a move to Old Trafford, but the Magpies hope that a quick deal with their German counterparts could swing the deal in their favour.
Both sides have missed out on a long list of targets this summer including Viktor Gyokeres and Hugo Ekitike.
With the season starting next week time is running out to have their targets in the match day squad prior to the campaign kicking off.

Manchester United Submit Official Bid for Benjamin Sesko After Newcastle United Submit Second
Manchester United’s bid understood to be worth €75million plus €10m is lower than Newcastle United’s bid which is closer to €90million all included. However, Ruben Amorim’s side are confident that the striker wants to join them, despite their lack of European football this upcoming season. Sources close to the player have confirmed to The Football Deck that this information is accurate.
Neither offer have been officially responded to yet and it remains to be seen whether either will be accepted.
Sesko is reportedly spending time with his family and agent who are helping him make a decision.
They are looking at his career, future prospects, family life and several other factors when deciding.
Manchester United have already added Cunha and Mbeumo to their attack this season. However the number nine position is up for grabs with Rasmus Hojlund failing to impress.

Future of Manchester United Hojlund Up in the Air
With the possibility of Sesko joining, that puts the future of current number nine Hojlund up for debate. The player confidently confirmed he wanted to stay, but it is understood the club would prefer to move him on.
RB Leipzig were interested in securing his signature but he does not want to move there. With a goalkeeper and midfielder still on the list of potential additions the club do still need to raise funds. Antony, Garnacho, Sancho and Malacia are still at the club and will need to be offloaded soon.
